As a current 911 dispatcher under the headset, I want to be one of the many resources in our industry that are helping in creating sustainable positive work environments. The 911 Initiative will be doing so through inspiring, giving, supporting, and engaging. Offering tangible products to help when the days are heavy, public awareness of the 911 profession and connecting with peers to remind them they are not alone in the stresses and thoughts that come with wearing the headset. To remind them they are valued, appreciated and to recognize their efforts every single day. Together we are a team...team 911.

Words for Rough Days and Reasons Why We Wear the Headset cards are now available. These are tangible tools to have by your side at a moments notice to help with the days that are heavy and the moment we question our WHY.
These are whispers from fellow peers under the headset and reminding you, you are not alone in the struggles that 911 emergency dispatchers face while under the headset.

CMXI (9 1 1 in Roman Numerals) Media originally started with the goal to help create sustainable positive wellness in ECCS, since then has become an Initiative...911 Initiative.
This was originally a concept that was done in 2020, asking peers what were some words of encouragement, and reasons why they wear the headset to share with my center at the time. When I would post about them there was much interest in getting copies for there center and knew they had to be shared with everyone. New designs are coming soon and will be available for pre order.
Like the index cards this is something that will remind us the good that surrounds us when most of our day is filled with horrors. This is a small bridge that will help you throughout your shift until you are able to get more help such as peer support, calling a loved one or decompressing.
Our goal is to support engage inspire and give, to create a sustainable positive work environment and help the heroes under the headset.
